February Optional Homework Challenge is now up on the Homework Tab. Thank you to January's participants!
Our Famous Person presentation date is fast approaching (next Friday, February 12th). Please remember that a copy of the speech is due this Friday, February 5th. Early speech submissions are welcome! Keep in mind that this is a kid-friendly presentation and should not last more than 1 minute 30 seconds. Also, don't forget that they will be talking in the first person for their speeches. Refer to the worksheet that was sent home for speech guidelines, and if you need further clarification, let me know.
In regards to our in-class activity relating to the Famous Person Project, the students have been hard at work researching and completing a Google Doc notes page and Google Slide of their famous person. We will continue to have class time to finish up this project, but thank you to those who have spent time at home to help your child. The students have been enjoying learning about their famous person and I am excited to see them come dressed up, ready to go. And remember, the costumes can just be items you have lying around the house. Use sharpies, old shirts, or borrow outfits from siblings...be creative!
On the day of the presentation, after each speech, students will display their Google Slide to show you their completed work. Remember, all parents are welcome to come and watch. Presentation time starts at 8:30am for the first group and 9:00am for the second group.
In other news, we have an upcoming field trip on Friday, March 4th to the SJ Art Museum. We will be leaving Noddin at 8:30am and arriving back at 12:30pm. Lunch will be eaten outside the museum's premises before we head back to campus. If you are interested in chaperoning, please click here. Permission slips will be sent home in this week's Thursday envelopes. Please turn it in as soon as possible.
