A big thank you to everyone who attended our Open House on Wednesday. It was such a wonderful sight to see our students beaming with joy when they were showing their work to their family. The video that was displayed during Open House is available for you to download and view here. Enjoy!
As hard as it is to believe, the second grade journey for our students is rapidly coming to an end. Only eight more school days left! The next few days will be spent closing out our science units on rocks, reviewing math, and writing in our writer's journal. Students no longer have homework, which they're pretty excited about. They are also really looking forward to some of the fun activities we have planned. Please make sure to mark your calendars!
On Wednesday, June 1st, we will have a second grade field day from 10:30-11:45am. Please make sure your child wears comfortable clothes, along with sunscreen and a hat if needed. Once Field Day ends, our class gets to indulge in some pizza since we were selected as the winners for the Go Green Media Contest. Click here to see our students featured on the district's website.
The following Wednesday, June 8th, our students will participate in the school-wide Olympic Day event. It is very similar to Field Day, except it will be a longer day with many more games! Again, please make sure your child wears comfortable clothes, sunscreen, and a hat if needed.
The last day of school is on Thursday, June 9th. Anne Hall is planning a special ice cream treat for our students that day. Thank you, Anne, for all that you've done for our class this year! We are very lucky to have you as our Room Mom! Please remember that it is an early dismissal day and the release time is at 12:15pm. The students will not be eating lunch on campus.
I hope you all enjoy the Memorial Day Weekend and take time to honor and remember those who have served our country.
