In January, our students will begin their Biography project. This week, your child will receive instructions on a speech they need to work on and memorize for their famous person presentation on February 12th. In class, students will research and check out books from the Noddin Library to help them complete a Google Slideshow about their famous person. If your child would like to bring in any supplementary materials from home, they may certainly bring it in to help them complete their research. Click here to view your child's assigned person.
This trimester, students will be learning how to write summaries and informational text. The Biography Project will help them learn how to summarize facts and recognize main ideas and key details.
In math, we finished our geometry unit and will work on building mental math strategies in addition and subtraction. Please make sure you continue to have your child work on mastering their basic math facts. Using X-tra math, flash cards, and having them continue to practice missed problems from their math fact sheets will help them gain automaticity.
January's Optional Challenge homework is up and can be viewed on the homework tab. Thank you to those students who participated in November/December's challenge.
