The Market opens this Friday and Room 24 students will showcase what they learned in math about money. The activity is tied in with our economic unit about producers and consumers and everyone is excited to see all the goods that will be up for sale. Thank you for your support in helping your child with this project. I know many students have worked really hard on their three items. Please make sure they bring in their items by Thursday, December 10th.
This week, Mrs. Koleszar, our wonderful librarian and media tech specialist, will be introducing our students to Scratch, a program that introduces students how to create animations, stories, and games. They will learn how to think creatively and create projects independently and collaboratively.
In January, students will learn about biographies and famous people in history. Each child will be assigned a famous person and present their person to the class. Since we are learning how to write informative text this trimester, it would be a great way for students to learn how to research and write about important facts and details. More information will be given out about this assignment when we return from Winter Break.
Upcoming Events:
-December 10th: Marketplace Items Due
-December 11th: Marketplace Activity/ Challenge Homework Due / Crazy Sweater Day
-December 18th: Winter Holiday Party
-December 21st - January 3rd: Winter Break
-January 8th: Wear Noddin Gear Day
-January 18th: MLK Day - No School
