Today, students were assigned their famous person. Please scroll below or click on the links to find the instructions to the project as well as presentation time. Unfortunately, not everyone was able to find a book on their assigned person at the Noddin library. I ask that you please help take your child to the local library to check out books on their famous person and have them bring it to class so that they can work on their classwork. You may also print out any online information and have your child use those articles to help learn about their famous person. Some class time will be used to help guide your child to do online research. At home, please have your child work on their speech with you. We will not be using class time to work on the speeches. To see an example of a speech from a student last year, go here.
In other exciting news, it was announced that our class won the district-wide digital media contest for the K-2 category! We had eight students in Room 24 who participated by creating a Storybird or an online comic strip. Diya's Storybird was the winning entry! The winning entries for each grade level categories can be viewed here. Congrats to Diya! She helped our class earn a pizza party, which will take place Monday, January 23rd.
Our field trip to the Palo Alto Children's Theater will take place on February 10th. We are watching The Three Little Pigs play and will depart Noddin Elementary at 10:30am. If you are interested in chaperoning, there are three spots available. Please fill out this Google Form and I will contact you with confirmation and further instructions.
Room 24 is still in need of some library readers. If you are interested in reading a book to our class and help students check in and out books from our school library, please go here to fill out your information.
