Thank you for your promptness in signing up for your parent-teacher conferences, which already starts next week. Please note the schedule below and let me know immediately if any of the time is incorrect or if you need to revise it.
This week, students will be hard at work completing many district benchmark assessments. It is their first year taking these assessments on a chromebook and they have showed so much perseverance. We also started our science unit on life cycles and students have been excited to observe the butterfly larvae that we have in the classroom. Along with butterflies, we are exploring the plant life cycles and have planted our own pumpkin seeds to see if we can track the growing process.
In math, we are mid-way through Module 3, learning about place value and counting money. On the homework tab and also the curriculum tab, I've included a link for parents to access the homework worksheets. In situations where your child (gasp!) forgets their math homework, you can click on the math module and print out the homework that matches the lesson we learned during the day. In the near future, students may be assigned some online homework.
Please remember that starting next Tuesday, 11/1 we have minimum day schedule up until Veterans Day. The Halloween party is on Friday from 1:30-2:30pm, following the school-wide costume parade. If you would like to volunteer, make sure you contact our room parents or visit the class shutterfly webpage to sign up to help.
On Halloween Day, students have no school due to Staff Development Day. Enjoy the ghoulish festivities and be safe.
