June is here and I want to thank you for all of your hard work and efforts in making distance learning possible. We are closing out the year and on Monday, June 8th, parents in Room 15 are encouraged to come pick up their child's remaining belongings, including a small end of the year gift from me to the student. Also, make sure to bring any checked out devices and library books for return. Please sign up by Thursday, June 4th.
Click here to select a 10-minute time slot to pick up and drop off items. If none of the time slots work for you, items will be placed with the office staff or Mr. Hernandez. Please be ready to do the following when you arrive:
This journey presented many challenges and there are still so many questions left lingering.
Please also note that the assignments for the remaining school days in June are all on Google Classroom. Most online programs unfortunately expire on June 30th and any renewals will take place again in the fall depending on the school's budget. Students can still access Khan Academy and Epic, but keep checking all other online programs since some companies might extend the subscription further to help students continue learning.
On the last day of school slide in Google Classroom, I will post a special slideshow recapping our year. It is still a work in progress currently, but will be ready by Wednesday, June 10th.
Lastly, I am saddened to say that I won't be back to Blacow next school year. Even though we didn't get to finish out the school year together, this class, the community, and the staff all have made a lasting impact on me. I am so grateful to have met such wonderful people during my short time here. A lot of changes happened during these last few months that were out of my control, but the good news is that I will continue teaching first grade at Warwick Elementary.
Thank you so much for your support and kindness. I appreciate everything you all have done during all the wonderful and difficult times.

- Everyone must wear a mask upon walking on campus.
- Only one family member is encouraged to come and gloves should be worn when picking up items. Your child may go with you, but must stay with you at all times.
- Student belongings will be bagged and ready for quick and easy pick up on a desk/table by the classroom door.
- Chromebooks, ipads and other electronic devices need to be dropped off at the computer lab for storage/cleaning.
- Library books: If you have any at home, please bring them and return it to the bin next to the library.
- Medication - Please pick them up at the office.
This journey presented many challenges and there are still so many questions left lingering.
- How is the fall going to look like for our students?
- What protocols will be put in place to make it safe for students, families and staff members?
- Is distance learning going to continue?
